Thanksgiving/Park City/Snow

Enjoyed Thanksgiving dinner with Caroline, Sam and crew. Cute to see how crazy the cousins are for each other.

Letters the boys made for their great grandparents and grandparents.

We spent most of the time in the kitchen last week. Here they are helping me make snicker doodles.

Just had to add this cute one of Lucas (before church).

After our Thanksgiving meal we headed up to Park City to play for the weekend. We had lots of down time, played games, watched movies, swam, ATE, shopped, went tubing, soaked in the hot tub, and laughed... A LOT!

The boys loved their personal little hot tub on our deck. Gorgeous snow covered mountain views.

Friday morning enjoying sticky buns and muffins...in bed.

Sunrise and hot tub time.

Friday we spent most of the morning/afternoon tubing at Gorgoza Park.  Micah and Lucas LOVED the snow!

Friday afternoon the boys swam back at the hotel and mom hit up the Tanger Outlet Mall.

Micah's reaction to Home Alone was more entertaining than the movie itself. He reminds me a lot of Kevin in so many ways.

Back home with a skiff of snow, and helping mom decking the halls.

A very quick post. My OCD just wanted to get this post up before my blog would file it in December's. Thanks for reading and I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend!

Disneyland!

After many years of fighting and being somewhat anti-Disney I have to admit it has won me over. Bringing our boys has made it a totally different experience. The people that work there and the characters that interact with your kids do such a wonderful job. Everything they do there is so over the top! Watching it through their eyes is a 'magical' experience indeed. My best friend lives 15 minutes from Disneyland and we were able to stay with her.  She's been able to hook us up and get us in for FREE the last 2 years. Amazing! THANK YOU!
After we got to Court's house on Wednesday, Sophie (Courtney's daughter was having more breathing episodes). They ended up having to take her to the ER on Wednesday night and were sent home shortly after.  Then they ended up spending Thursday, Friday and Saturday in the Children's Hospital. Definitely not the way we planned our weekend. We made the best of everything given the circumstances. I had lots of quality time with just Courtney and her family in the hospital without my kids that I wouldn't have had otherwise. Bringing them treats in the evening, walking, and walking and walking the halls with Sophie and Court on Saturday. They were such troopers and handled everything with grace. I am so thankful they were finally able to give a diagnosis that should hopefully help Sophie in the future.

Thursday we spent the day at the beach, and went to Downtown Disney.

Beautiful weather the entire time. 73-76 during the days.

Nice having a bigger vehicle with a DVD player for traveling. The kids thought they were spoiled big time.

 Friday!

Love these cute shirts we had made for the big day! All the employees we would pass by would greet them by their first name. Halfway through the day Micah asked how everyone knew who they were. I told him it was because he was very very special. He stared off  into space with HUGE eyes. lol

Picking out Mickey ears.

The kids LOVED Mickey's Fun Wheel. Of course we had to pick the swinging cart to ride (vomit bags included).

Our tickets included park hopper passes so we spent the morning in California Adventure. Cars Land was so cute. We were able to snag fast passes for the Radiator Springs Racers ride that already had a 3-hour wait.

Meeting Buzz.

The new Toy Story Mania ride was a favorite for the boys. Both of them wanted to immediately get back on when it was over.

I told Brett we HAD to get a picture with Mickey. Lucas has been obsessed with him since he's been little. Brett is NOT fan for waiting in line to see characters. We both felt like we hit the jackpot running in to these guys. Didn't have to wait in line and they spent so much time with them in full on character. It was adorable and they were SO sweet! Lucas was a little starstruck.

Astro Orbiter

Micah and the I in the back of  Radiator Springs Racers (mom's new favorite).

Parade time!! I love this part of the day. Brett *tolerates* it. I have a feeling as soon as the boys outgrow the parade stage they're going to ditch mom for rides.

Micah got to ride Radiator Springs Racers twice (with a fast pass) since Lucas was just an inch short.

Junkyard Jamboree

Mickey's Fun Wheel

Our goal was to stay until the kids hit their melting points. We really wanted to try and make it to the fireworks show at 9:45pm but not push it. They did incredibly well and were chill so we just went with it.

Saying goodbye. :(

By the time we got to the elevator where we parked it was pushing midnight and this is the face Lucas still had. Sweetheart. After we arrived at Court's, and were unloading things there was a trail of Micah's clothes in the hallway and he was passed out in bed before we even had a chance to say goodnight. He is exactly like dad when it comes to theme parks: goes goes goes, loves loves loves, and won't quit. You'll never find him more compliant and easy than when were are at theme parks (Brett too!). Seriously.

Friday- Disneyland!  Arrive at 10:15am. Maters Junkyard Jamboree. Luigi's Flying Tires. Mickey's Fun Wheel (swinging). Meeting Buzz. Hot dogs while waiting in line. Toy Story Midway Mania. Star Tours. Parade. Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters. Astro Orbiter. Radiator Springs Racers x2(Micah). Luigis Flying Tires (Luke). Flick's Flyers. Heimlich's Chew Chew Train. Turkey Legs. Pirates of the Caribbean. Jungle Cruise. Fireworks. Luke and Mom shopping. Micah and Dad on Splash Mountain (twice). Exit the park at 11:20pm.

Saturday morning I wanted to get over to the hospital as early as possible. We were pretty sure Soph would be discharged that day but didn't know exactly what time and how long it would take. Brett dropped me off and took the boys to this Discovery Cube. They finally discharged her that afternoon, we got home around 4ish, ordered pizza, made cookies, and laid low. Court and I stayed up till 4am talking (making up for lost time!!!! And by far my most favorite part of the trip). Sunday morning we had a very low key morning. Brett and the boys went and picked up breakfast for all of us and Andrew and Brett watched the kids so Courts and I could get pedicures.

This was 2am when we said we should probably go to bed...

19 years of friendship. I can't put into words how I feel about this lady. You don't make or find friends like this often. She is forever irreplaceable. Love you Courts..can't wait till next time!
