Why I Love the Atlanta Airport

I don't usually get excited about airports because they are pretty much all the same, but the Atlanta airport impressed me for a number of reasons:

There are recharge stations like this all over the terminals where you can sit down with a laptop, cell phone, mp3 player, etc. and charge your stuff using a couple of AC plugs at each station.

There were a few of these Nintendo DS Download Stations around the airport. You can hook up your DS and download games and other content at these stations. Also, they have a DS attached to the station so you can play if you are bored.

Most airport TVs are permanently tuned into CNN or some other news station. Not the Atlanta airport though....they had NFL games on.

Every trashcan there has a built-in trash compactor, so they are never overflowing with garbage like you see in some airports.

They have vending machines like this in each terminal that sell iPods, digital cameras, iPod accessories, ear buds, etc.

After a tough loss to UW today, we went to an Italian restaurant sans BSU t-shirts. As you can see, Mark and Kevin are still having a hard time dealing with the defeat.

Salmon River Rafting Trip

I took a river rafting trip down the Salmon River last weekend with some peeps from church. The weather and scenery were beautiful. It was a really good time.

We forgot the Bocce Ball set, so we had to settle for rocks.....caveman style baby....yeah.

Spending a warm summer night at the fair with your spouse: Priceless

Shannon and I decided to brave the crazy crowds at the fair so that we could enjoy the sweet pleasure that is a funnel cake. The Western Idaho Fair contained the usual amount of dust, cigarette smoke, B.O., Carnies, and mullets. We had a great time though.

Gadgets Galore!

Last week was good for me. I had only owned my Treo 755p for a couple of days when a new gadget unexpectedly fell into my lap. At my company picnic, I was lucky enough to have my name drawn for a prize and the Garmin C330 is what I won. Shannon and I don't really need a navigation system, but it is certainly handy to have and will be very nice for road trips. Holla at me if you need to borrow it.

After Albert Haynesworth stomped on Andre Gurode's face during an NFL game last week, the NFL slapped him with a 5-game suspension, which will cost him approx. $500,000. The public was outraged and many people called for Haynesworth to be charged criminally. What he did was COMPLETELY wrong and his punishment was justified. What I want to know is, why wasn't Antrel Rolle disciplined AT ALL for nearly breaking Larry Johnson's neck in this week's Cardinals-Chiefs game? He could have ended LJ's career and paralyzed him for life. Where is the public outrage on this one?

BSU in the BCS?

Now that TCU, Utah, and Fresno State have lost games, BSU is the only Non-BCS school that has a shot at a BCS bowl game. The Broncos have six games left on the schedule and they should win every one of them. The first BCS rankings come out on Sunday (10/15), and BSU's ranking should surprise people. Their projected ranking, according to the Rich Tellshow Rankings, should be around 14, just two spots away from a guaranteed BCS bowl berth. Most computer polls have them ranked in the Top 10. GO BIG BLUE!!!

Wow, this guy is a genious. I would definitely recommend NOT doing this if you want to get a 'Yes' from a marriage proposal.

"ANN ARBOR, Michigan (AP) -- A man who ran naked through his neighborhood to persuade his girlfriend to marry him got more than he bargained for when he was chased and shot at, police said.

The couple were discussing marriage early Wednesday when the woman said she wasn't sure if she was ready, according to Ann Arbor police reports.

The man responded that taking risks is an important part of life and, to prove his point, jumped out of a first-floor window and ran naked across the street.

Before he could return, he spotted a couple walking and hid in some bushes to avoid them. A 28-year-old man noticed the bushes rustling and bare feet underneath, then drew a .40-caliber handgun and ordered the naked man out, police said.

The naked suitor ran away, but the armed man gave chase and threatened to shoot, police said. The gunman fired a shot and the naked man fell to the ground, suffering minor injuries.

A resident called police, who arrested the gunman on charges of aggravated assault and carrying a concealed weapon. He was released following further investigation, police Sgt. Patrick Hughes told The Associated Press.

The naked man was not arrested and didn't want to pursue charges, Hughes said."

Fake iPod

They use magic fairy dust!"

Zebransky Stinks.....2nd Installment

Well, it is official. Dan Hawkins has lost his mind. How can he keep Zabransky as the starting QB? He claims that it is because 'Z' is the leader of the team. That is crap. How can you lead your team when you have stats like this: 4-for-15 passing, 2 interceptions, and a lost fumble (in less than 3 Quarters). Yeah, thats a QB rating of 52. I have been waiting all season for Taylor Tharpe to take over. Obviously, his team has too. After being tied 21-21 in the 3rd Quarter against the Idaho Vandals (possibly the worst team in Division 1A football), the Broncos finally stepped it up when Tharpe came in. They scored 49 points in a little less than 22 minutes. Bench. Zabransky. Permanently.
